Teaching is better
when you keep learning
Practical, CAPS-aligned professional development for ECD practitioners and Foundation Phase teachers — from coding and robotics to AI tools and automation.
Our philosophy
Every word earns its place
Ground · Elevate · Thrive describes how we design every module, every activity, and every assessment in every programme we offer.
We start where you are — real classroom practice, real South African context, zero assumptions about prior technology experience. Every concept is explained before it is applied.
We build skills you can use the next working day. Every session has a TRY IT activity. You leave with something you made — a lesson plan, a workflow, a resource.
Professional development that sticks. Our programmes become habits — weekly workflows, reusable resources, and a community of practitioners who keep each other growing.
What we offer
Three programmes. One pathway.
Take any course independently or complete all three for the Future-Ready Educator Award.
Teach children to think computationally — without expensive equipment. Unplugged-first, CAPS-aligned, and designed for real Foundation Phase classrooms.
Use AI confidently, safely and ethically — for lesson planning, report comments, parent communication and more. POPIA-compliant from day one, free tools throughout.
Go beyond prompting — build automated workflows that handle your admin, generate lesson kits and draft communications while you focus on the children you teach.

Nomsa K. — Grade 2 teacher, GautengWho we are
Built by practitioners, for practitioners
GET Institute was co-founded by two professionals whose combined expertise spans data governance, privacy, ECD and Foundation Phase education.
Hadley is a tech professional and entrepreneur based in Johannesburg, working in the data space at one of South Africa's leading banks. With a deep passion for data governance, privacy and responsible technology, he brings the rigour of enterprise data thinking to everything GET Institute builds — ensuring that AI tools are taught ethically, responsibly and with genuine understanding of how data works.
Carey-Lynn is a SACE-registered Foundation Phase educator and NQF Level 4 facilitator with a B.Ed from the University of Fort Hare and over a decade in South African classrooms. She specialises in ECD practitioner development, hybrid delivery and learning design — and is the reason every GET Institute programme works in a real classroom from day one.
A South African team building for South African classrooms
Every programme is designed for low-resource settings, multilingual learners, and the real constraints of ECD and Foundation Phase practice in this country.
